Franz Kafka
i am a cage
in my cage i hear
the bird sing.
i hum to myself.
i am a cage, inside,
sometimes i cannot open
when she picks at the mesh
i opened it
and beauty came
i cried
i opened it
and rats came in
gnawed at my bones
i opened it
and memories
tried to kill me
i opened it
i tried to fly
and fell on my face
i opened it
i walked on water
and lightning struck me
now i opened it
i walk with my cage
it is never far
can you help me
to bury it
deep in the forest of now
i feel so strange
it is ridiculous
to carry a cage
