Golden Verses of Pythagoras...sleep and death, a link to theosophy
Golden Verses of Pythagoras:
"Sleep and death are brothers, according to the old Greek proverb. However, they are not merely brothers, born of the same fabric of human consciousness, but are in all verity one, identical."
"Sleep is largely an automatic functioning of the human consciousness; death is the same, but in immensely greater degree, and is a necessary habit of the consciousness in order that it may gain for the psychological part of the constitution a resting and an assimilation of experience."
http://www.theosophy-nw.org/theosnw/death/de-gdp5.htm
be careful with this link.
i may agree with parts of what is written there,
but it is not important what is written, in books,
not important what is lectured, not important at all.
too many words, too much dogmatism, too much terminology.
and always, always, ideas, an effort for domination, somebody telling us he or she knows....
you must yourself find your way as i must find mine...
Admit not sleep to thy drooping eyes,
Ere thou hast well reviewed each one of the day's deeds.
In what was I remiss? What did I do? What duty was not fulfilled?

Johnny Flynn - Howl (Lexington Session)
"not bad"
i will inform you when i will have turned
as adult as my mum wanted me to be,
a polite monster of society, rich, with
grandeur and good manners, my tongue
knotted in my tie, now i could rhyme but i won't,
my nails and speech polished, my mind tamed
and my heart within limits, my soul unknown
and, of course, decent, the son of law of god the father,
but of course, of course she wanted me happy.
the pursuit of happiness....i must howl! i must...
i feel much better being just me .
i must have grown adult then.
