Golden Verses of Pythagoras...sleep and death, a link to theosophy
Golden Verses of Pythagoras:
"Sleep and death are brothers, according to the old Greek proverb. However, they are not merely brothers, born of the same fabric of human consciousness, but are in all verity one, identical."
"Sleep is largely an automatic functioning of the human consciousness; death is the same, but in immensely greater degree, and is a necessary habit of the consciousness in order that it may gain for the psychological part of the constitution a resting and an assimilation of experience."
http://www.theosophy-nw.org/theosnw/death/de-gdp5.htm
be careful with this link.
i may agree with parts of what is written there,
but it is not important what is written, in books,
not important what is lectured, not important at all.
too many words, too much dogmatism, too much terminology.
and always, always, ideas, an effort for domination, somebody telling us he or she knows....
you must yourself find your way as i must find mine...
Admit not sleep to thy drooping eyes,
Ere thou hast well reviewed each one of the day's deeds.
In what was I remiss? What did I do? What duty was not fulfilled?

Johnny Flynn - Howl (Lexington Session)
"not bad"
i will inform you when i will have turned
as adult as my mum wanted me to be,
a polite monster of society, rich, with
grandeur and good manners, my tongue
knotted in my tie, now i could rhyme but i won't,
my nails and speech polished, my mind tamed
and my heart within limits, my soul unknown
and, of course, decent, the son of law of god the father,
but of course, of course she wanted me happy.
the pursuit of happiness....i must howl! i must...
i feel much better being just me .
i must have grown adult then.

Sophie Zelmani - I Can't Change
i can't change...?
This Blog
is quite personal but all to be shared.
It is not me, but parts of my pattern and mosaic of days passing.
all of us have to go through hard days, stupid ways of thinking,
passion, suffering, experience separation and loss,
despair and hope, climb across mountains and stumble through valleys.
All of us can find beauty and calm presence and all of us can grow.
I feel i got years older in many ways within one year,
my sleep is bad, i cannot again stop smoking,
but in between i feel very young and clear.
wishing my readers a good day.
off and out.

Sophie Zelmani - Wind Took My Sail
a good song...it happened...most if not all of us carry this in their experience..
i don't want it to be like this, but will it help, to want?
i don't feel like this but something growing which i do not wish to define.

Omar Bashir & The Horvath Gypsy Band - Gypsy Oud (Hungarian Dance)
"I can never get away from you, and will you remember me? Distance brings us closer. There is no distance."
quote from: Mark Rowlands, The Philosopher and the Wolf
"Why did I love Brenin? I would like to think-and here I must lapse again into metaphor.that our dogs call out to something in the deepest recesses of a long-forgotten part of our soul. Here there dwells an older part of us-a part of us that was there before we became apes. This is the wolf we once were.
This wolf understands that happiness cannot be found in calculation.
It understands that no truly significant relationship can ever be based on a contract.
First there is loyalty.
And this we must respect though the heavens fall.
Calculation and contracts always come afterwards-
as the simian part of our soul follows on from the lupine."

re-framing obstacles into chances, Dena Weinberg
"There are no problems, only opportunities for growth." –Rebbetzin Dena Weinberg
Rabih Abou-Khalil - Shaving is boring
what a title, quite true...and then see the poem attached in youtube...:-)
Sophie Zelmani - Lost In Love
There's a drawback in living for
The moment, in loving life too much
Every time you're lost in love
You wonder when the love will stop
The moment, in loving life too much
Every time you're lost in love
You wonder when the love will stop
I'm lost in love
There's a price to pay if you
Want to enjoy the present time
To be that thankful demands that you
Are always carrying death in mind
Want to enjoy the present time
To be that thankful demands that you
Are always carrying death in mind
Death is around
There's a point to put off some things
And save them for a rainy day
Only those about to die
Are acting in a perfect way
And save them for a rainy day
Only those about to die
Are acting in a perfect way
Who wants to die
There's an answer to why you can
So rarely take in what you see
The pleasure is followed by
A fear you want to avoid to feel
So rarely take in what you see
The pleasure is followed by
A fear you want to avoid to feel
I'm so lost in love
There's a freedom in making plans
To think about a future and
There's a comfort in being sure
That it'll be long before the end
To think about a future and
There's a comfort in being sure
That it'll be long before the end
I'm not making plans
There's a reason to why so many
Only get one little chance
If the song was sung forever
No one'd ever stop to dance
Only get one little chance
If the song was sung forever
No one'd ever stop to dance
Sophie Zelmani - The Ocean And Me
It's the ocean and me
We're the ones to be
I always fall asleep
Beside the sea
And we've got a certain way
How it wakes me everyday
I never know though
With what kind of wave
And you know about oceans
How brutaly it can rush
Drown you, or calmly cares
You with a gentle touch
Sometimes I bring my boat
When I believe it'll let me float
It's just that I'm so often
Returning soaked
The ocean has you
Has the waves of you
And i never felt a sea
So blue
Moddi - Silhouette + mp3 download
...and then came the waves on our boats
on our boats
the loudest laugther no one knows
no one knows
a helpless child you are on your own
on your own
can you feel how it brakes on your bones
on your bones
the loudest laughter no one owns
no one owns
silhouettes in the sky, dancing ghosts
dancing ghosts
a helpless child you are on your own

"I got me some horses
To ride on, to ride on
They say that your demons can't go there"
a collage of neo-nazism: Germany today
i could post the news today, the fotos, the articles, wheresoever in my country,
there are people, other humans, they set fire to the homes of people in exile who seek help and asylum.
it is not a good world and it is not a specifically "good" country to live in..
not for refugees, for sure.

Porque me olhas assim, Cristina Branco
Porque me olhas assim
Diz-me agora o teu nome
Se já te dissemos que sim
Pelo olhar que demora
Porque me olhas assim
Porque me rondas assim
Se já te dissemos que sim
Pelo olhar que demora
Porque me olhas assim
Porque me rondas assim
Toda a luz da avenida
Se desdobra em paixão
Magias de druída
P'lo teu toque de mão
Soam ventos amenos
P'los mares morenos
Do meu coração
Se desdobra em paixão
Magias de druída
P'lo teu toque de mão
Soam ventos amenos
P'los mares morenos
Do meu coração
Espelhando as vitrinas
Da cidade sem fim
Tu surgiste divina
Porque me abeiras assim
Porque me tocas assim
Da cidade sem fim
Tu surgiste divina
Porque me abeiras assim
Porque me tocas assim
E trocámos pendentes
Velhas palavras tontas
Com sotaques diferentes
Nossa prosa está pronta
Dobrando esquinas e gretas
P'lo caminho das letras
Que tudo o resto não conta
Velhas palavras tontas
Com sotaques diferentes
Nossa prosa está pronta
Dobrando esquinas e gretas
P'lo caminho das letras
Que tudo o resto não conta
E lá fomos audazes
Por passeios tardios
Vadiando o asfalto
Cruzando outras pontes
De mares que são rios
E num bar fora de horas
Se eu chorar perdoa
Ó meu bem é que eu canto
Por dentro sonhando
Que estou em Lisboa
Por passeios tardios
Vadiando o asfalto
Cruzando outras pontes
De mares que são rios
E num bar fora de horas
Se eu chorar perdoa
Ó meu bem é que eu canto
Por dentro sonhando
Que estou em Lisboa
Diz-me tu então que sou teu
Que tu és tudo p'ra mim
Que me pões no apogeu
Porque me abraças assim
Porque me beijas assim
Que tu és tudo p'ra mim
Que me pões no apogeu
Porque me abraças assim
Porque me beijas assim
Por esta noite adiante
Se tu me pedes enfim
Num céu de anúncios brilhantes
Vamos casar em Berlim
À luz vã dos faróis
São de seda os lençóis
Porque me amas assim
Se tu me pedes enfim
Num céu de anúncios brilhantes
Vamos casar em Berlim
À luz vã dos faróis
São de seda os lençóis
Porque me amas assim

under the seven seas: at night
under the seven seas
i go to sleep as
the cat told me,
him now on my legs
heavy , in trance
i go to dream, i dive
under the seven seas
where i will find you,
breathing , air rising
from you and
from your seven dwarfs,
you have slept
with seven poisons
for seven years
must i kiss you
to flow up together
or must we sink or float
in the deep cold blue
or can we fly in mid air
for a time as wild geese,
fly in the seven skies
next to each other
or walk the seven hills,
the autumn orchards,
with the scent of apples
and of sweet plums
can i take your load:
I'd carry your school bag
for part of the way
and fill it with ladybugs,
sandalwood, fresh hay:
there is nothing in books,
i will hide them
under rocks on the way
in a rose coloured dawn,
seven wishes for morning,
seven for the night:
to sail the seven seas
and dance with dwarfs
into the dusk behind trees,
grow in the forest
and out in the fields
where the ticking of clocks
and the call of chimes
will sink into silence,
with rhythms and music
to take us across time
and out of the coffins
in which we had hidden
seven times,
with seven poisons,
seven times,
with seven poisons,
for seven years
under seven seas

Johnny Cash - Ring Of Fire (Live At Montreux 1994)
this...is not my way anymore.
no.
no.
cat dreams
my tomcat came to bed. his head on my arm, first purring, then snoring. as with a lover i didn't dare to move, i let him be happy.
he told me that more i do not need.
good night.

incantation for sleep
incantation for sleep
now in the cloudy sky
in the plane
in between
now,
from now to now
my cat
a house
a garden,
this will be there,
nobody waiting
i had been missing,
lost in the frontiers.
i moved to the core,
a home in the heart
it sails within storms
as quiet as a gull
with wings to carry,
to steer in and out
i must go
and follow the days
and see the signs
in the traces of birds
in the patterns of faces
the smoke from fires
remember the essence
of touch and presence
no soothsayers
to heal my pain
no lover
to ease my longing
there is only one
and one, pure feeling,
i am homesick for you.
no inauguration
no witch, no magic,
no words will cure me:
only you can
when you will
and i must wait.
it is as if i have waited
since i was born.
i am here now.
i reached a place
where we can meet.
it is for you
to find me in the green
leaves of the ivy,
the lianas of fingers
and lips and skin
and the whispering
of my voice in your ear,
my breath in dreams
of fur and feathers,
salt and soft winds
and here are my tears
they are nothing
but rain in the ocean
the gates open
and heaven finds
release
to return
home.
sleep, my love,
sleep.
sleep
and find the key
which i tried to send.
open my door.
i told your monsters
to go, i prayed for
your pain to
come into my arms
the string of pearls
your spine
i count
and i lose count
i ask your heart
to have eyes
and courage
to trust and to feel
i pray
i hold a shell
close to your ear
you can listen
and hear
the blood
the sea
and the stars
listen to your self,
child of heaven,
woman of earth,
sleep
sleep, my love,
sleep.
sleep.
Delta - David Crosby
Waking stream of consciousness
On a sleeping street of dream
Thoughts like scattered leaves
Slowed in mid fall into the streams
On a sleeping street of dream
Thoughts like scattered leaves
Slowed in mid fall into the streams
Of fast running rivers of choice and chance
And time stops here on the delta
While they dance, while they dance
And time stops here on the delta
While they dance, while they dance
I love the child who steers this riverboat
But lately he's crazy for the deep
And the river seems dreamlike in the daytime
And someone keeps thinking in my sleep
But lately he's crazy for the deep
And the river seems dreamlike in the daytime
And someone keeps thinking in my sleep
Of fast running rivers of choice and chance
And time stops here on the delta
While they dance, while they dance
And time stops here on the delta
While they dance, while they dance
While they dance, while they dance
While they dance, while they dance
While they dance, while they dance
While they dance, while they dance
While they dance, while they dance
