a diary note

this morning i watched a tree and some birds above the sea. sometimes i do not know if i talk to the world only or if the world talks to me. when i was a child the world talked to me all the time and in many ways. now i got older, experienced collisions, fusion, grief and suffering. and off and on pain takes me out of the flow of the universe, keeps me locked and crystallizing in an unwelcome process of individuation. i am still the same, branded by the sign of aries on my forehead, wanting, fighting, throwing tempers and tempests, more often than not walking in a cloud of fire, wounds  and violence. i learnt to live with myself better than some around. and now, getting older, i feel the ground on which i walk getting thinner and thinner, and i know that i thrive on pure imagination. of course there is no reliable path at all, and escape is no option but a waste of energy. so  i keep on walking and inbetween i try to listen to the trees and the birds and  the wind and the rain.

Lissabon

I feel these holes
in my astral shield.
the tides of time
make me sleepy.
but i walk
and see.

this city is beautiful
and strange.
i collect perfumes and smiles,
a scent of power and presence

my mind fills with ships
and poets
with sheer splendour, arrogant,
built on a past of wars

i walk on
meet faces
music
sensuously slurred words
which i cannot understand
just as i don't know
anything here

i listen to the wind
the Tejo slapping the banks
and i know, for each moment
we all pay with blood

Europe was raped
and she bore Minos
who kept a monster
in his maze

now the poor
need to find a thread
to help them out

i know
and you know
there is no garden
for the heart to rest
but for a short time
and time does not exist

for now
i sit in the sun
the coffee is good

nachts
leise tritt
die einsamkeit
über die ufer

kein saxophon,
mein herz schlägt
in einen schwarzen raum,
verstrahlt

die federn

legen sich auf
mein gesicht

ich kann

lies

lies

is it revolution
if i don’t want to talk?
is it the language of madness
if I just want to listen to a voice
but not to hear the words?

is it bourgeouis
if I want a hand
to hold
and an arm
to rest?

is it immoral
if I don’t want
to do
anything
at all?

i know
we are here to
communicate
i hate the word
it starts with the church
continues with politics

proceeds into the
world wide web,
there
eaten by spiders
I guess

there is always
somebody
who
defines
communication

i have done so much
i have talked so much
i tried
to
communicate

but what has it taught me
where did I go from there
and why

i am a liar,

i already talked too much

Loss

Loss

I went on
and on,
busy as a bee,
senseless.
I forgot to mourn

I went on
but I cannot.
I stop
and there is:
I don’t know.

I went to her grave.
She said:
Why don’t you stay
just a bit longer

I was frightened
but
I turned back
and stayed
just a bit longer

Then I left.
Life is not the same
now

but as before
the ground moves
all
the

time

Bardo

BARDO

I think,
I don’t think.
I am inbetween
sleep and waking,
doing and not doing

hovering
between worlds.
I am  a ship
riding the tides,

I swing through an eddy,
catch a backcurrent
near an unknown shore.

Forgotten by the waves
I am here
and I am no more.
I cannot sleep,
I cannot wake

I see no stars
in the mirror of this night.
I see no sun
in this glaring day.

I hear no one
but blood thumping
 my eardrums

I grow roots in the air,
bleached by salt.
My heart drunken
 with blackness
 in this bottomless sea.

There is a  witch,
she stands in the door
but she holds not power
nor broom

I have no legs,
I cannot walk.
I have no wings,
I cannot fly.

In the birdless shadow
I cannot talk
nor sing

So much water
but I am dry.
The dance is finished,
the last echo of this song
gone in a silent wind

My desert needs rain
and a voice.
Then I may rise
with the clouds

and write on the walls

silence

Silence

if there is silence
noise is mere wrinkles
on a deep lake

people breathe
hawk
whisper in the last row
you want to close your eyes

a gust of wind outside
a large window
leaves tumbling across
rain

outside a  car
another one
a siren approaches
fades away

a chair squeaks
you forget
where you are

somebody talks
there are words

they are words

Conni, beautiful, courageous,so very brave, a fighting spirit and distilled energy in her eyes

Poem for my wife's 47th birthday, 2003: Cornelia Feder 12 Oct 1956-11 Sept 2013

Deine Augen

Deine Augen sind wie Seen,
der Himmel spiegelt sich.
Wolken fliehen zentrifugal
vor kleinen grünen Enten,

die mit ihren Flügeln
Wellen schlagen,
das Wasser kräuseln.
Nebel ziehen müde durch.

Deine Augen sind wie Feuer,
wärmen und brennen,
hüten und versengen.
Leiden ist nahe an Kraft.

Du siehst alles so scharf.
Es wird schwer, sanft zu sein.
Irgendwann wirst du im Traum
kirschblütenleicht  schweben.

Deine Augen sind manchmal
wie ein Licht von hoch oben,
das wie ein Falke weit und ferne
in den Winden kreist

und dann  zur Erde stürzt,
dort die Beute krallt.
Die Geduld des Falken
ist die List des Jägers.

Du bist stark und doch schwach.
Ich möchte dich halten,
im Ohr deinen Rhythmus,
dein Lied aus Blut und Atem.

Deine Augen sind wie Wind,
sie sind fern wie Sterne,
nah wie du
und ...

Life

Life

Of water
Of fire
Of blood and  sperm
and of desire

of light
 of pain
of night
and of stars

born
struggling
wondering
alone
and one
and torn

meeting
dancing
melting
and
separating
alchemy of love

then
you let go
go into the breath
of silence
returning to stars

and someone will
watch
at the edge of the void
watching the stars
in far away skies

Triumph

Triumph

Whosoever
moves in triumph
in the foam
on top of the waves,
beautifully
touching the clouds

Whosoever
dances in triumph
in the rain,
tenderly
kissing the trees

Whosoever
stands in triumph
next to the bull’s eye,
courageously
facing the crowd

Whosoever
penetrates in triumph
The darkness of soul,
openeyed
living with dreams

I wish
an angel may guard
her steps,
when she touches

the ground

A difficult time

A difficult time

This world a stonemill
grinding,
noisy,
inhospitable

A whiff of silence
under a street lamp,
my heaven,
my harbour
tonight

Black and white
are no colours
but merciful poles
of the same light,
covering mistakes
and treasures

Loss of memory
and sufficient shadow
make life
more sufferable,
food for the soul

I steer along
by experience.
I learnt to do
without thinking,
even talk

Somebody talks,
and I don’t know
if I listen.
So much talk
kills my awareness

Now
I will go into the night
Trying to save
myself

in sleep

At full moon

At full moon

At full moon
I follow my shadow
finding a path

Specks of tar on the road
like a black lizard,
rustling in the forest

Both feet on the ground,
walking,
I feel how fragile
this heavy dancer,

my vulnerable self :
just a glimpse
of long gone stars

I wonder
if I follow myself,
a dream
or always

just a shadow

Das Licht ist grausam

Das Licht ist grausam

Zwei Möven streiten sich,
zerren an einem toten Vogel.
Das Licht ist grausam, grell,
die Steine glitzern,
die heiße Luft flirrt.

Unter dieser Sonne
kochen Blut, Sperma, Schmerz,
Großbuchstabenworte,
PFLICHT, verdampfen.
Alle Lügen ohne Schatten.

Das Meer hat keine Angst
vor der Menschen Sprache.
Es kennt nicht Worte,
nicht Echo.

Und im Wind
auf den weißen Federn der Gischt

ist nur der  Atem Gottes.

Mein Engel wacht

Mein Engel wacht
(Italien,2013)

Die Vögel
segeln so leicht
im Wind über der Maieletta.
Mein Herz schlägt in ihren Flügeln.

In der Marina di Alberese
brennt der Sand.
Der Duft der Pinien,
die Zikaden,
ich gleite in einen Traum.

In Levanto schnurrt eine Katze,
ich gehe in diese Nacht
voll von Blüten und Sternen.

Das Meer berührt den Strand,
Welle um Welle
offenbart es die Zeit.

Mein Engel wacht.

Why

Why

My smile is hiding out
up in the clouds.

A black Labrador,
flapping her ears,
buried her poo
And flew high up in the sky.

I wouldn’t know why.

on the campo imperatore

on the campo imperatore

here i am light,
stones,
open and wide,
near the clouds,
penetrated by this wind,
a breeze of eternity

a filigrane net,
i am made of  breath,
now transparent

i hold on
to things too hard,
now i let go.

i feel joy
in this  loneliness.
other times
so full with desire,
i don't need anything.
I am.

ODE AN DIE DUNKELHEIT, ein Entwurf, Juni 2013

Ode an die Dunkelheit

Zum Meer in der Dunkelheit
mein Ohr in der Nacht
Im Sand, an der Grenze
Zwischen Himmel und Erde,
zwischen Erde und Meer,
eine Linie, die sich ewig wandelt

in den Rhythmen von Wind und Mond,
im Gesang der Sterne,
und alles vergeht ,
wieder und wieder kommt das Meer
und immer in Verwandlung

Ohne Kinder und Geschichten,
allein,
Wirst du ins Vergessen gleiten?
Hast du zugehört,
getröstet,
wo ist dein Herz?
Bist du hier?
Was bleibt?

Durch Fäulnis, Feuer, Wasser
Und in den Stürmen der Sonne
Wirst du zersetzt, aufgelöst,
bist erlöst im Tanz der Elemente.

Bist  destilliert
Im Rauch
Zu fliegen,
Ein Streicheln in der Luft
Mit leuchtenden Schwingen

Du, der du lebst, liebst, sorgst.
So oft ineinander verschlungen.
In all deiner Leidenschaft
Und voll von Sehnsucht,
Getrieben von Gier,
von Hunger, von Durst

Nackt bist du geboren,
dir gehört nichts,
Sohn und Tochter des Himmels
Bote ferner Milchstraßen
Lass los, du bist frei

Ich weiß nicht, was Auferstehung heißt,
ich wurde vor langer Zeit gerufen,
ich trinke Sternenstaub.
Wohin ich reise, weiß ich nicht

Schlüssel brauche ich nicht,
alle Tore sind offen,
ich gehe, durchdringe,
ich in einem Mantel aus Nichts
in Dunkel verhüllt
werde ich Licht

Und auch Du wirst
in diesen dunklen Fluss steigen
nackt, erlöst, wirst schwimmen
träumen, verdunsten, ein Nebel,
ein Geruch, eine Erinnerung,

der Schrei eines Vogels,
Blüten, Jasmin,
eine Welle , Schaum,
und endlich
Licht, frei im Licht,
Dunkel, frei in dieser Nacht

 C.T.Feder, 2013

Kommentar:

Gnade.
Oder Zitronenbonbons.

The Idea of Entropy at Maenporth Beach, Peter Redgrove

The Idea of Entropy at Maenporth Beach
"C'est elle! Noire et pourtant lumineuse."

A boggy wood as full of springs as trees.
Slowly she slipped into the muck.
It was a white dress, she said, and that was not right.
Leathery polished mud, that stank as it split.
It is a smooth white body, she said, and that is not right,
not quite right; I'll have a smoother
slicker body, and my golden hair
will sprinkle rich goodness everywhere.
So slowly she backed up into the mud.

If it were a white dress, she said, with some little black,
dressed with a little flaw, a smut, some swart
twinge of ancestry, or if it were all black
since I am white,but- it's my mistake.
So slowly she slunk, all pleated, into the muck.

The mud spatters with rich seed and ranging pollens.
Black darts up the pleats, black pleats,
lance along the white ones, and she stops
swaying, cut in half. Is it right, she sobs
as the fat, juicy, incredibly tart mud rises
round her throat and dims the diamond there?
Is it right, so she stretches her white neck back
and takes a deep breath once and a one step back.
Some golden strands afloat pull after her.

The mud recoils, lies heavy, queasy, swart.
But then this soft blubber stirs, and quickly she comes up
dressed like a mound of lickerish earth,
swiftly ascending in a streaming pat
thatb grows tall, smooth brimming hips, and steps out
on flowing pillars, darkly draped.

And then the blackness breaks open with blue eyes
of this black Venus rising helmeted in night
who as she glides grins brilliantly, and drops
swatches superb as molasses on her path.

Who is that negress running on the beach
laughing excitedly with teeth as white
as the white waves kneeling, dazzled, to the sands?
Clapping excitedly the black rooks rise,
running delightedly in slapping rags
she sprinkles substance, and the small life flies!

She laughs aloud, and bares her teeth again, and cries:
Now that I am all black, and running in my richness
and knowing it a little, i have learnt
it is quite wrong to be all white always;
and knowing it a little, I shall take great care
to keep a little black about me somewhere.
A snotty nostril, a mourning nail will do.
Mud is a good dress, but not the best.
Ah, watch, she runs into the sea. She walks
in streaky white on dazzling sands that stretch
like the whole world's pursy mud quite purged.
The black rooks coo like doves, new suns beam
from every droplet of the shattering waves,
from every crystal of the shattered rock.
Drenched in the mud, pure white rejoiced,
from this collision were new colours born,
and in their slithering passage to the sea
the shrugged-up riches of deep darkness sang.

ROAD AND SIGNS

road  and signs

Are there any signs?
Do I listen?
My head between
stars and fields,
between shoulders

My birds fly
between clouds and knives,
and doors and seven seas.
I sit
on cold stone

Between rain and
 hail and wind
A cat approaches
I sit
On my wonderful throne

A twig in my hand,
sword of justice,
I wear a smile
For a while,
and I deal  dreams

I wonder,
where do I go.
my mind is thirsty
and somebody cries
somewhere,
sometimes.

The grass is green
The earth wakens,
leaves flowers,
 the scent of apple blossoms.
Birds sing in my garden,
My wild garden

And now
is
now
so
precious

Pfeile im Licht

Pfeile im Licht

Unsere Kinder
seien nicht unsere Kinder
aber unsere Frauen
sind nicht unsere Frauen

Und eure Männer
Sind nicht eure Männer
Nicht einmal unsere Hühner
sind unsere Hühner

Aber wir töten
und
essen

Aber wir graben
und pflanzen
und zäunen

Die Erde
bricht
unter unseren Stiefeln
entzwei

Über der Saat
schreien Krähen
schwarze Feinde
aus einem Kinderbuch

In den Reusen
zappeln Aale
Ihre Not
gegen die unsere,
unsere Aale

Und in den Kakaoplantagen
hungern kleine Kinder
Den Kakao
trinken unsere Kinder

Und im Gefängnis
wohnt der böse Mann
unser Mann

Und in den Wolken
wohnt der Wind
unser Wind

Und unsere Kinder
sind Pfeile aus Licht
und auch unser Licht
und Licht

(In Verbundenheit mit Khalil Gibran und : unsere Kinder..)

Foehn

Foehn

The wind which kills:
le vent qui tue.

Too much light,
green shoots out of snow
and trees  stare into the sun.

white clouds glaring,
hail out of  blue sky.
The soil bursts open.

I dance around my wound.
windmill wings flail me
into dizziness. but I fly
and  join the tumbling leaves,

listen, they are hissing.
who knows the words
of spring,
when a lone bird sings?

"go and catch a falling star"

"Go and catch a falling star"

Sht, it's hot
my hand fell off
I can catch
but cannot keep

1,2 and 3
it stings as a bee
4,5, 6 and 8
I can't walk straight

I show you where it is
a cold black stone
down in the lake
always awake

they said
go and catch the falling star
now I'm drunk
it is dark and it is sad

take my hand out of the ice
show me my fingers
and take us to the star
maybe it is an avatar

deep in the forest
behind so many trees
and i wonder if it sees
how much my mind
still misses my hand

maybe it is not nice
but if it has the power
it will heal my arm and hand
with its weird and magic wand

if not i will remain
a cripple, sometimes weak
and often and vain
and i just may sin and grin
now and again

“Could be a love poem about somebody’s eyes, but.”

“Could be a love poem about somebody’s eyes,
but.”

The stars talk to me
through your eyes.
the planets turn
and the nights sing

I smell the sea
through your eyes,
the cries of seagulls

Your eyes are so very clear ,
a secret lake in moonlight
silvery with fishes
leaping out of the light

It is not true
I am not blind
I can see
what I want to see

I can see
what I can see,
the presence of angels.
and I walk in silence

I feel this strength.
I hear the voices,
I see the dance  of hurt and joy.
I want to fly with the wind
of the universe

My dreams reach out
but my words fall short
even I
am falling
but will rise
and rise until my last day

Evenings

Evenings

Near to despair and anthills,
too tired to run,
I will sit and wait for bites

Paintings on the wall,
there must be a message.
but my brain is as
numb as a dead man’s toe.

I crawl along corners
pull myself up for the EXIT.
why don’t I stay on the floor
There is nothing to gain.

They give me money
so that I listen to you
write notes, prescriptions.
for a moment of nothingness
you will get my attention
for what it is worth.

And then I come home
to my retreat
so I can place my garbage
in peace and what is left

Leftover selves
they just tumble across the room.
I don’t need shelves.
they disappear in emptiness

problem solved
dissolved
the alchemy of burnt homes
and I start to smile

which I still
find a
fairly
incredible
thing to do

Rudolf gähnte, was den Drachen erschreckte, sehr erschreckte.

„Herr König, gern will ich euch nochmals helfen.
