Paterson, Jim Jarmusch

until a few moments ago i watched this film at home, amazon made it possible,
the next cinemas are 35 and 55 kms from my home..and it is not on.

i recommend this film, it is magic, poetic intensity coming together with slowness
and slow vision, i will not be able to forget this film: it is simply wonderful.

i remember how deeply frustrated i was as a child and can be today
seeing books i read as films in a cinema. all rich imagination coming with
reading most times destroyed in a cheap commercialized way.
in my family we used to call this kind of matter Americanization of culture.

"Paterson" leaves space for imagination, it IS space created,
not just a sequence of actions hammered down towards an end.
Jarmusch is a true artist.

ps: i watched the film in German language. my next posts will be poetry by an author mentioned in the film, William Carlos Williams, and by a poet whose texts were used in this film,Ron Padgett.

i don't comment poems. rarely is more accurate.

by the way, towards the end there is a lovely moment which made me laugh , a Japanese man says that translated poems are like taking a shower wearing a raincoat...:-)
